Does Pole Star provide LRIT Conformance Tests for my Flag?
A complete list of all Flags that Pole Star tests for can be found here.
How long will an LRIT Conformance Test take to run?
Successful LRIT Conformance Tests can take up to 48 hours to complete. We encourage all vessels to test their transceivers well in advance of their approaching radio surveys to ensure that there is enough time for a test to run completely.
How long does it take to receive a Conformance Test Report (LRIT Certificate) from Pole Star? Conformance Test Reports for all Flags that we certify for are issued within five days of receipt of payment. We also offer an expedited Fast Track service, with CTRs sent the next working day, for an additional administration fee. You may see a complete list of flags for which we offer Conformance Test Reports, here.
What must I do if my Flag issues their own Conformance Test Reports?
If your flag is issuing Conformance Test Reports themselves, Pole Star will forward all successful test results directly to your Flag, with no further action needed on your part, ensuring the process for you is as simple and quick as possible. After completing a successful test, simply contact your Flag for more information.
What are my LRIT obligations if my vessel changes flags?
If you have already completed a successful LRIT Conformance Test with Pole Star and are reflagging to another Flag that Pole Star tests for there is no need for you to retest your transceiver. Instead, you must simply apply for a new Conformance Test Report. You may contact lrittesting@polestarglobal.com for more information.
What should I do if my equipment fails that test?
If your shipbourne equipment is non-conformant, Pole Star can supply a dedicated LRIT kit (inclusive of either a Salilor TT3000M Mini-C, or a DMR-800LRIT.) For more information see here.
